A man's love
current mood: del mal genio
Fwoo~ Okay, I don't even know what to say here. Here goes...
Have you ever heard the saying "A man falls in love only three times"? If not, this is how it goes.
His first love, is the one that introduces him to the emotion and makes him want more. His second love is the one with whom he's ready to settle should the opportunity be presented. His third, however, is what defines his heart. If that relationship goes well then he will be one of the most loving people ever encountered. He may not always show it or even know how to but he will still be overflowing with love. If it ends, be it well or ill, that man will forever be changed. Either he will forever be hateful and unable to move onward, living in the slow spiral to despair, or he will forever me unable to share his heart wholly with another. No matter who the following people may be, they will never gain his whole heart. Also, there's nothing to say that all three couldn't be for the same person or any variant thereof.
Now, I ask this, what happens when one loves another for several years and the other finds out? Those emotions would either be accepted or rejected, right? Now what happens if those feelings are accepted and one is made to believe they are returned? Joyous and momentous occasion, right? Not necessarily. Instead, once the feelings are believed, doubt should plague and nothing less. But you who have loved unrequited for years prior, do not so easily let your guard. Not until certainty is achieved through years of patience and peerless observation.
So I ask you, what does one do when suddenly, in a span of less than 24 hrs, told by their beloved they are no longer loved? Was it really a mistake to take the time to alter oneself in order to show one's love in its abundance? Was it a mistake to alter plans, relationships and schedules? Was it wrong to even plan for the made-to-be-believed future? Was it a mistake to admit to love in the first place?
Now, let's say one has an adversary through the entire matter. One who whispers nothing but lies into the ears of the other. Is it too much to ask that the other realize this even for one moment? Let's say this adversary questioned one on his menial activities, does one answer out of respect or respond with the disdain so gleefully earned? Let's say one chooses to be respectful and truthful. What does one do when those words are twisted nigh beyond recognition? What does one do when faced with aggression due to this play? Does one continue to fight a losing battle? What does one continue to fight for?
Dear readers, I'd like to know your thoughts on this.
